Women interviewed for the 2001 "The Third Shift, Women Learning Online" study were pursuing online degrees or taking online masters program for the learning experience. At least one woman with a family and full-time job called online college a "dream come true". Online college costs were addressed throughout the interviews.Interviewees cited positive distance learning aspects, such as reduced commuting time and travel costs.
